Lutheran World Relief Update

Thank you to all who dontated items for the Lutheran World Relief efforts here at St. Paul's.  So far, the ladies sewing group (sponsored by our Ladies League) have sewn and constructed about 120 "comforts of love".  Thanks to all who have donated fabric and money and to Thrivent Financial for Thrivent Action Team seed money.  Recently, the Ladies Legue put together 25 personal care kits with the help of the donation of items (soap, toothbrush, nail clipper, comb and towel) and monetary gifts.  The Ladies Legue also made a donation to buy items for the kits.  We are still collecting soap until Oct. 6th.  We are in need of a driver with a pickup truck who can deliver the boxed items to Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood on Saturday, October 20, 2018.

WOMEN'S MINISTRY

We usually sponsor the monthly potluck, but this month we are not leading it.  Instead, the potluck will take place in the park in conjunction wtih the Service in the Park sponsored by the church on September 23rd.

The Women's Ministry group will meet two times this month.  Our first meeting will be on Oct. 15th in the Fellowship Hall from 6:30-8:00pm followed by the When Calls the Heart Bible study with the study/DVD entitled "Heart of a Teacher".   Our second event will be a continuation of our Bible Study on Oct. 22 at 6:30pm.  (no meeting)   In addition to the video, our Bible readings and discusssin have led us to discuss the relationship of our heart to our conduct, review the fruits of the Spirit, and to self-evaluate what spirtual fruit others see in us.

The monthly potluck sponsotred by the Women's Ministry will be held on Oct. 28th after the 10:30am service.  Join us for some food and fellowship!

We welcome more ladies to join us at our meetings, the Bible Study, and to become part of our ministry at St. Paul's

But the frut of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.  Galations 6:22-23

Youth News: High School Youth

High School youth meets for Bible study Sunday mornings in the youth room 9:15 - 10:15am.  We have two fantastic curriculums chosen for this fall: "Which is the Right Way" and "Fitting In: relationships with God and Others".  All High School youth are invited to join us as we study God's word and have fellowship time with friends.
Note:  We will not meet on Oct. 7th.

Did you hear about the September High School event?  Our high school youth attended an escape room....narrowly escaping with 8:55 minutes to spare!  Great job by all.

If you missed the September event, we are having our October event on Oct 20, going to Eckert's farm in Millstadt, and continuing the day roasting hotdogs and S'Mores.  All high school youth are invited.  Watch the youth board for additional information and meetings times.
